Whether you are a brand new full-time recruiter or a founder desperately in need of people for your startup, recruiting can be intimidating. Fortunately, the recruiting community is known for being open and generous. People readily share advice and tips and are happy to help anyone who is interested jump in.

One of the best ways to get to know the recruiting community and expand your knowledge is to join Facebook groups. Here you can easily ask questions and see what issues people are focusing on most today. To help you get your start in recruiting we’ve put together this list of five Facebook groups you should join ASAP.

Recruiters Online

The Recruiters Online group is managed by a few people, including Michael Keleman, famous for hosting the Recruiting Animal Show. The group doesn’t allow ads or job posting. It’s about sharing ideas, challenging each other, and finding ways to be a better recruiter.

#Trumunity

Tru events have become a staple of the sourcing and recruiting community. Started by Bill Boorman, Tru is an “unconference” where group discussions are lead, rather than presentations and monologues. This Facebook group is an extension of that and a great way to see when the latest events are taking place.

Secret Sourcing Group

Part of Recruiting Daily, this is a great place to get advice on all things related to sourcing. As the job market becomes tighter sourcing will play a larger role, so if you don’t yet know how to find and source candidates this group is a great place to start.

Recruitment Evolution

Run by Jacob Sten Madsen, this group is devoted to finding new, different, and better ways of tackling recruiting. If you have an off-the-wall idea that you aren’t sure of, or want to challenge yourself to think outside the box, this is a great place to start.

#FightSpam

You might have noticed that here on the Hello Talent blog we really don’t like recruiter spam. Fight Spam is a great place to laugh at terrible recruiting emails while also getting ideas on how to communicate with candidates in ways that get positive responses.

Shameless plug: If you’re looking for another source for recruiting tips and tricks follow Hello Talent on the social media! You can also have a look on the blog! We will share our best articles as well as other stuff we’ve seen on the web 😉
